The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

The chalet is within easy reach (45 minutes) of the largest ski area in Europe – the Portes de Soleil – with famous resorts such as Chatel, Morzine and Avoriaz. The region covers 14 valleys stretched out over France (Haute-Savoie) and Switzerland (The Valais). It offers 650 kilometres of slopes, more than 200 ski-lifts, 243 km of cross-country skiing and 9 snow parks.

In summer, there is pool and safe lake swimming, white-water rafting the Dranse, water sports on the lake, fishing, golf at the Evian Championship course, gambling at Evian’s famous casino and well-being sessions at the world famous Evian Spa.

Culture: Evian (10 minutes), elegant lakeside town from the Belle Époque with lakeside walks, Evian water visitor centre, casino, spa, outdoor swimming, shops, cafes, bars, safe play areas, beautiful gardens and fountains.
Geneva (60 minutes) with shops, theatres, museums, parks and festivals.
Medieval Lausanne across the lake fantastic for sights and shopping.
Montreaux (20 minutess), music festivals, ancient Chateau Chillon.
Yvoire (20 minutess) – Traffic free medieval village, now a World Heritage Site.
The Thollon les Memises area
Direct access to 50km downhill piste with 14 individual pistes & 18 ski lifts plus snowboarding. There’s a good mix of easy to difficult runs available and an excellent ESF ski school with English speaking instructors available, next to the telecabine. The best views in the Alps we have ever seen.

Cable car operates throughout the summer too – go to the top for the most amazing views of Lac Leman and enjoy a drink in the ski station cafe. Plus hiking, tennis, biking and parapenting.

There is a small lake just 10 minutes away, with aerial runway, diving boards, table tennis, BBQ and cafe.
